Yorkshire quartet The Chevin are quickly progressing to become one of Britain’s brightest new bands. Previously seen supporting White Lies, The Airborne Toxic Event and The Pigeon Detectives, as well as at a show stopping SXSW 2012 performance, the band released their debut EP ‘Champion’ on Fierce Panda at the start of the year. Now with an upcoming appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman confirmed and the subject of a Daily Star profile, The Chevin will release their next single ‘Drive’ on May 28^th on So Recordings.

Blood Red Shoes are set to release their new single ‘Lost Kids’ on May 14th via V2/Co-Operative Music.

The second single to be taken from the Brighton duo’s new album ‘In Time To Voices’, ‘Lost Kids’ is a blow to the senses adding more punch to their new change of direction. Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansell’s vocals are double tracked for a potent layered effect over a killer hook and huge chorus. Angst ridden cries create a tense and fraught atmosphere, conjuring up images of chaos, mayhem and unrest.

Mary Epworth has been around music as long as she can remember. Whether joining her father as a young child to take part in Gypsy music workshops; a figurative experience which resonates to this day with the concept of ‘duende’ running through her approach to composition, sharing her elder brother’s heavy metal phase as a young teenager; favourite bands Saxon and Queensryche, or finding her true love in 60’s West Coast psychedelia, the 70’s Beach Boys and traditional English song, Mary Epworth has always been destined for a life in music.

Her debut album, ‘Dream Life’, is fast becoming one of the most talked about underground releases of the year. As the single, ‘Black Doe’ took up root on 6 Music, Radio One and Radio Two and early reviews of the album from the likes of Shindig (‘Mary’s timeless songs and pure but resolute voice somehow sound as though they have been there all the time’) and Record Collector (‘a work of bracing originality and immense subtlety’) earmarked Mary as a name to watch for 2012, MOJO recently added their approval characterising ‘Dream Life’ as ‘a warm, yearning love letter’ in a MOJO Rising feature suggesting Mary for great things.

Introducing a surreal and wonderful video collaboration between new East London production house SCRATCH Pictures and electronic musician Isambard Khroustaliov (Leverton Fox). Inspired by the curious frequencies emanating from the arcane ‘Mute Synth’ (built by cult circuit benders Dirty Electronics) and revelling in a turn of the century mysticism surrounding science and electricity, ‘Metamorphosis’ is an uncanny interlude of Lynchian proportions.

Happy May Day (/MEYDEI - getit!)

Bristol post-punks Idles have unveiled the new video for MEYDEI, which is the first material to be taken from their forthcoming debut EP which is set for release on 4th August via Fear Of Fiction records.

Idles sound has always been a hard one to categorise, but imagine something between the intense rock and roll of The Walkmen and the dark post-punk of Joy Division and you’ll be somewhere close.

Since Monroe unveil acoustic video for ‘Leech’

Over the past few weeks Since Monroe have had some fantastic press support due to the release of their debut EP, ‘Lost Generation’, which came out March 26^th, and was welcomed by a whole host of critics. Although they specialise in creating heavy grunge offerings infused with sensational licks and strong vocals, Since Monroe have also got a softer side, which is displayed wonderfully in their acoustic video for ‘Leech’, which is an unheard song from their currently unnamed album that they’re working on, which is set to be released early 2013. Dissociates Kick & Shove Video released!

The first video from the Dissociates critically acclaimed “Drown This Town” EP has been released for the lead track Kick & Shove. London’s jerky staccato jagged guitar band are constantly compared to bands such as Gang Of Four, Fugazi, The Clash, Future Of The Left, pulled apart by horses, wire, pixies and many other oddballs, and have been having a busy year - and this video is kicking off a busy Spring / Summer. Famed for their impressive and loud live show, this was shot last summer at their show at the Old Blue Last.

Dissociates will be returning to the location of their Kick & Shove video - The Old Blue Last - on Monday 23rd April to play at the single launch party of their partners in crime, Crazy Arm. North Atlantic Oscillation - Soft Coda

The second track to make it’s way online from North Atlantic Oscillation’s stunning new record and the lead single from the record, ‘Soft Coda’, can be heard along with a hypnotic accompanying video.

‘Soft Coda’ comes out next week, preceding the band’s moody, complex and diverse second record ‘Fog Electric’, which is released on April 30th through Kscope. They will also be playing a special album launch show at The Tabernacle Church in London’s Notting Hill on Wednesday 2nd May (TICKETS).

Awesome video for an awesome tune by long time E&D faves Pulled Apart By Horses.

According to the band Wolf Hand is “our very own piercing tale of forgetting about ageing and staying forever young,” and there’s no doubt that every word, pounding beat and soaring guitar embodies the spirit of youth, as captured in this home inspired video directed by Bob Harlow.

Wolf Hand’ can also be heard along with the rest of the album through the band’s facebook page (www.facebook.com/pulledapartbyhorses), where fans can ‘borrow’ the album for seven days and get rewards for sharing. They’ll be updating the page regularly with original & exclusive content.

New video from fiN.

Following their sold out show at London’s The Borderline to launch single ‘Rapture/Everybody Dies Alone’ and after recently signing to Domino Publishing, fiN announce a headline show at London’s Bush Hall on 18^th April for the release of new single ‘Twenty Three/Eve’ on 16^th April on Artisan Records.

fiN were formed in late 2009 by four friends from Wandsworth – Luke Joyce (25, vocals), Jonny Garner (25, guitar), Simon Harding (26, drums) and Kerry Lambert (26, bass). Their goal was to create something unique, taking their influences; dEUs, Pearl Jam and The Smashing Pumpkins, and the main elements of alternative rock and creating something innovative and unexpected out of it. And that is where fiN was born.

Debut single ‘The Artisan’, an almost entirely instrumental track which blends the epic darkness of Radiohead and the rock frenzy of Foo Fighters, brought fiN early adopters and began their quick succession of sell-out live shows. Second single ‘Rapture/Everybody Dies Alone’ followed earning the band glowing reviews and a packed out single launch at The Borderline.

New single ‘Twenty Three’, a message to Luke’s recently redundant Dad to stop yearning for his youth, is a heavy guitar led anthem with a catchy pop rock hook throughout. ‘Eve’, a song about the awkwardness of losing your virginity, is a dark orchestral rock ballad that builds to a huge emotive epic chorus. The band will be launching the new single at Bush Hall on 18^th April.
